# Software

A POCS unit needs some software to run various components. This includes the mount and camera control computers (usually a Raspberry Pi but can be anything), as well as an Arduino Uno for the power distribution.

The first step to making the software run is [installation](https://www.projectpanoptes.org/build/software/installation "mention") of all the software.

Then perform [configuration](https://www.projectpanoptes.org/build/software/configuration "mention")of the software so it works with your hardware.

Finally, perform some [testing](https://www.projectpanoptes.org/build/testing "mention") to ensure everything works!
