# Software

A POCS unit needs some software to run various components. This includes the mount and camera control computers (usually a Raspberry Pi but can be anything), as well as an Arduino Uno for the power distribution.

The first step to making the software run is [Installation](/build/software/installation.md) of all the software.

Then perform [Configuration](/build/software/configuration.md)of the software so it works with your hardware.

Finally, perform some [Testing](/build/testing.md) to ensure everything works!
